The Moonlight Bazaar is an award-winning urban event that was created in 2017 on the east coast of Canada.

The Bazaar blends music, food, art, and creative performances together into one unique experience. The flow and texture of the evening is reminiscent of a night bazaar, accented by the chaos of unrelated activities, such as fire throwing, fortune telling, belly dancing, and theatrical vignettes, which all combine to create a stand-alone outdoor street festival unlike any other in the landscape of Canadian events. The signature element of the Bazaar is the enormous seven metre inflated moon that looms over the centre of the streets, suspended approximately four metres in the air from the top of two buildings.

The unique qualities of the Moonlight Bazaar allow an urban space to be transformed for one evening into something entirely new for the surrounding community. The Bazaar is a creative celebration of the weird and the new; it is unconventional and unpredictable; it plays on people’s curiosity while delivering a fun-making event that explores new boundaries in the urban context.
